Hello.
My name is Mike Lamond, also known as Husky online.
And I guess I'm kind of a professional shoutcaster for
video games, especially "StarCraft." And, yeah, I just
make lots of YouTube videos, and that's really it.
So, the name Husky StarCraft, obviously I like "StarCraft."
And the word husky, I just thought would be a good name,
because it confuses people.
They don't know if I have a husky voice, they don't know
if I'm very large person, they don't know if I went to
Washington University.
I just like to keep people guessing.
I would definitely consider myself a gamer.
That's basically all I do all day, every day.
It's my job, it's my hobby.
I don't really hang out with people who don't play video
games, so, I mean, I can't imagine how one person could
play more games.
So, I've always been into gaming.
When I was a little chap, my grandmother bought me an
original Nintendo NES, and my parents, much to their dismay,
gave it to us, and I've been playing games
nonstop ever since.
I was the kid who has no vitamin D, because I'm always
inside playing games.
I haven't played as many tabletop games, as I'm sure a
lot of the guests have here, but I'm a huge fan of "Magic
The Gathering," which of course you play offline.
And even when I was, again, a little chap, I
was quite the nerd.
I made my own tabletop game.
It was like a pirates game, and it was really cool, and
you had little pieces.
And I spent all my recesses making that board game.
Total nerd status, but you would fold out a giant map,
and it was my own board game.
So, I absolutely love "Star Wars." I love "Star Trek." I
love "StarCraft." Really, anything that has the word
star in front of it is doing pretty well in my book.
But when I heard that I was going to be playing a "Star
Wars" board game, I got really, really excited,
because I always want to support "Star Wars," because
it's great.
So, one of the things I always keep in mind about gaming is I
remember so many stories about when I was a little kid.
My parents would always say, Michael, go outside.
Video games aren't ever going to do anything for you.
Well, guess, what, mom?
They did.
I'm a professional gamer now.
So, I always think about that looking back, and moving
forward, I've just got to prove that hey, gaming can be
good for you.
So, I guess the most new and upcoming stuff for me is going
to be the live events that I cast.
MLG, Major League Gaming.
Anyone who follows me is familiar with those.
I live cast those, and then I'm always making new videos
on YouTube.
That's kind of where you can find almost everything I'm
involved with, is on YouTube.
And just traveling around.
Traveling out of country.
I do some live events, and all that good stuff.
So, gaming for me is the entire world.
Literally, there is not a single day, in a single year,
ever, since I was about eight years old, that I
haven't been gaming.
It's the best thing ever.
I highly recommend it, and if you play the right games, it's
good for your brain, too.
