You know, when your car has problems, searching for best auto repair shops, it can get frustrating sometimes.
But a valley business is offering you free help by doing the pre-screening work for you.
CBS5's Jason Kadah has the straight story.
Let's face it: sometimes our friends in the automotive business get a bad rap.
But like my 8th grade math teacher, there's someone in charge of grading these guys.
There are some organizations that rate not only mechanics, but also plumbers and pest control people.
All NARPRO does is car repair shops - helping you locate top auto repair shops in your area (Phoenix, AZ)
The organization is called NARPRO, founded right here in the valley and
in the process of taking their concept nationally.
Automotive repair shops that earn the NARPRO stamp of approval have been graded on
26 different standards, most importantly of which is customer satisfaction.
Not everybody in town is listed on our network, only the ones that meet our standards.
Potential customers go to the website, enter their zip code and type of car,
and are presented with a list of NARPRO-recommended auto repair shops.
It is a fairly simple process, especially for the consumer,
to find a good repair shop that they should be very happy with.
To remain a NARPRO-approved shop, it must maintain a 95% or better customer satisfaction rating.
Satisfaction is top priority at these locally owned businesses
because their only advertising often comes from word of mouth.
We depend a lot on referrals. If you're a good customer of mine,
I have confidence that you're going to tell other people.
So next time your car needs a little TLC, let NARPRO do the homework for you.
We'll put a link to their website on KPHO.com.

Word of mouth really does make a big difference, don't you think?
It still, even in today's society, social media, everything, it's face-to-face, word of mouth. People trust each other.
Yeah, still holding on to that.
