Naan Sigappu Manithan ( I am a Red Man) is an upcoming Tamil drama film directed by Thiru
and produced by UTV Motion Pictures. Co-produced by Vishal, the film stars himself in the leading
role with Lakshmi Menon and Iniya in supporting roles, while G. V. Prakash Kumar composes
the film's music. Title is named after the 1985
Tamil film of same name. Shooting started on the 29th of November 2013 near VGP and
is projected to end by February 2014. The film
deals with a character who has Narcolepsy. The film is scheduled for release is in April
2014.
Vishal announced that director Thiru would direct a film under his production house in
June 2013, and that Jai would play the lead role in
the film. However in October 2013, Jai announced that his schedules were busy and thus Vishal
himself opted to play the lead role in the film.
Lakshmi Menon was selected to play lead heroine. The film began production on November 29,
2013 and it was announced that Iniya was added to the cast to play another leading female
role. The soundtrack album was composed by G. V.
Prakash Kumar. After the release of Samar for Pongal 2013,
there wasn't much hush surrounding director Thiru. But he has all along been working on
the script for his next, which is now ready to
go on floors. Vishal Film Factory would be producing the film and it would star Jai in
the lead role. A top heroine is being scouted
for the female lead role. Thaman has been signed on to provide music
for this action based romantic entertainer set in Chennai.
The shoots will begin in the end of August and an official announcement is expected in
this regard, soon. After the release of Pandianadu, Vishal is
expected to do one more film with director Thiru, to be produced under his own banner
Vishal Film Factory (VFF). This will be the hat-trick
association of Thiru and Vishal, after Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai and Samar.
Thiru was earlier believed to be doing a film with Jai for VFF but he is now doing his next
film with Vishal. It isn't sure if the script for the Jai movie,
is being done with Vishal now. Lakshmi Menon will be pairing up with Vishal
for the second time in succession, after Pandianadu. Thaman has been signed on as the composer
and Richard Nathan will be handling the camera. More updates regarding the shoots
of this film are expected in the coming days. Vishal's next flick after his successful 'Pandiya
Nadu' is 'Naan Sigappu Manithan' which went on floors November 29th, 2013.
Interestingly, Superstar Rajinikanth had acted earlier in a film with the same title, directed
by SA Chandrashekar. Vishal's 'Naan Sigappu Manithan' will have
Lakshmi Menon as the female lead and Iniya as the second heroine.
Though there have been a lot of rumours that it is remake from Rajinikanth's yesteryear
super hit film, but Vishal has denied it. The tall and dark handsome
actor is producing this venture under his home banner Vishal Film Factory.
The film is said to be a romantic tale, with a lot of action sequences.
Thiru, who has worked with Vishal earlier in Theeratha Vilayattu Pillai and Samar, has
written the script as well, and GV Prakash has been roped in to compose
the score for the film. The film will be completed by February and is jointly produced
by UTV Motion Pictures and Vishal Film Factory. The official track list of Vishal-Lakshmi
Menon's upcoming film "Naan Sigappu Manithan" has been released.
The film's music composer G.V. Prakash has released the track list which includes five
songs and a single theme. According to the composer, the music album
of "Naan Sigappu Manithan" will be for the next generation
The audio of Vishal's earlier release "Pandiya Nadu" was well received by the audience and
so expectations are high for "Naan Sigappu Manithan" album. The music release
of the film is expected to happen soon. Moreover, the makers of "Naan Sigappu Manithan"
are planning to release the film's teaser next week. Confirming the news,
Dhananjayan Govind, Chief - South Business, Studios of Disney-UTV Motion Pictures (producers
of "Naan Sigappu Manithan"), tweeted, "#Naansigappumanithan teaser next
week...something new & innovative on the way. Do look Forward:-)."
The film's shooting is progressing at a brisk pace and is nearing completion. Director Thiru
is reportedly planning to complete the shooting by 7 March.
The Vishal starrer is gearing up for release on 11 April. However, it is not clear whether
the film will be able to make it to theatres on the said date as Rajinikanth's
"Kochadaiiyaan" is all set for a big release. The makers of "Kochadaiiyaan"
are planning to release the film in massive number of screens - 6,000 screens. It might
be difficult for the "Naan Sigappu Manithan" team to garner enough
number of screens to release the film. List Of Big Banner Tamil Films Releasing This

Lakshmi Menon Shares Passionate Kiss With Vishal
The music of UTV Motion Pictures and Vishal Film Factory’s forthcoming film Naan Sigappu
Manithan was recently unveiled by superstar Rajinikanth at his residence. Directed by
Thiru, the film stars Vishal, Lakshmi Menon and Iniya. Music is by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
Rajinikanth seemed to like the teaser of the film and complimented the team for handling
the issue of Narcolepsy, a neurological sleep disorder. He was impressed by the music
of the film, the outstanding voices of GV and Saindhavi and loved the choreography
and Vishal’s dance movements in the song Yelelo. The superstar even admired Disney
India’s studio team for their professionalism and well-organised approach. He expressed
his eagerness to watch the film in his theater. Incidentally in 1985, Rajinikanth had
starred in a film titled Naan Sigappu Manithan. The Vishal-starrer is scheduled to release
in April 2014.
Naan Sigappu Manithan is an tamil action - thriller movie direction by Thiru. The movie starring
with vaishal and Lakshmi Menon. The movie is been produced jointly by UTV
Movies and Vishal Film Factory. Though the title of the film is borrowed from a
1985 Super Hit film starring superstar Rajinikanth, it is a new subject untold in Tamil cinema
and we look forward to the release of the film.
Director Thiru says his film Naan Sigappu Manithan talks about narcolepsy, a neurological
sleep disorder, and Vishal Krishna had to work very hard to
play the guy suffering from the problem because there was no reference point
to get the body language right. "It's a concept that hasn't been used in films so far. Playing
a character with such disorder was not easy and Vishal worked extremely hard
for it. I feel it's his most challenging role because for Vishal's character we
didn't have any reference,". Production house annouced that movie will be released on April
