today I'm going to tell you why
Koreans are always one year older than their actual age. when you learn Korean
language you need to learn to Korean culture at the same time if you have any
Korean friends you definitely have a conversation about age. they likely asked
you your age when you first met and then they told you their age. they probably did this
by saying oh I'm 82 or 85 meaning they were born 1982 or born in 1988 but
Korean culture is based on Confucianism where one's age is the most important
factor in a relationship so in the case where someone says I was born 1982 you
might reply although being in 2016 years 34 years of 82 which they will rely on
35 years of each to which you would reply hungry and we're good at now so
why do Koreans tack on another year to their actual age? well this is because they start
counting upon conception when you're actually begins in the extra year than
is actually an extra nine or ten months
further complicates things additional year on New Years Day so someone who was
born on December 31st is one year old bday that they are very next day they
turned to wrap your head around now and by the way
Japan and China used also counties the exact same way but they stopped in the
room nineties because it was too confusing with international
relationships
however when the Korean government decided to do this the Korean population
said no way why too deeply rooted in the quarter and now we know what Koreans are
always one or two years older than their actual very confusing I know but try to
understand it because I saw it is and i think is going to change anytime you
