This Mercedes-Benz C 63 AMG Coupe is brand new.
That might sound great, but it isn't.
It still need to be run in.
No speeding the first 1,500 km.
Not over 140 km/h, not over 4,500 tpm
Never ful throttle.
That's frustrating in a car like this.
But I already drove 800 km.
Another 700 to go.
Exactly the distance to Affalterbach, home to AMG.
At AMG, every engine is built by one engineer.
That man puts his name on the engine.
I'm going to visit the man that built my machine.
Mr Entratas, I came here in a car with your name on the engine.
Signatures are for artwork. Do you consider yourself an artist?
More or less, yes. Our engines look great and are unique.
That makes one proud of what he made.
Do you ever get feedback from customers, either good or bad?
Nothing bad soo far.
But I do speak with customers sometimes.
I get postive reactions.
Sometimes, I get presents.
Once a compact disk with music.
The customer was a composer. I made his engine,
so he gave me something he made.
That's nice.
This is made by you. It brought me from Amsterdam to Stuttgart.
I thinkt it's run in properly now?
Last night, I had it on 1,500 km.
Can I floor the pedal now, or should I build it up?
You can go faster now.
Back home on the motorway, can I?
I'd be careful another 500 km, at 2,000 go for it.
Where will AMG be in 10 years from now?
Our range will be wider.
Our themes sportiness, individuality exclusivity and performance..
.. we cherish that. People want that.
We will grow in new markets.
Our biggest markets are the USA, Europe with mostly Germany, and Japan.
But we get new, growing markets.
China of course, but also Korea.
Brasil is growing, South Afrika is an item.
Australia, and even India.
We will offer a broad range, globally.
But everything must meet AMG Driving Performance.
That means the car must be a real AMG.
After having seen the factory and the engineer, I like the car even more.
And the best news is: it is properly run in now.
That means flooring the pedal.
