Hannover trained at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on Wednesday (13 February) to prepare
for the first leg in their Europa League last 32 encounter against Anzhi Makhachkala.
Group L winners Hannover are competing at this phase of the Europa League for the second
time in as many seasons.
In 2011-12, they bowed out to eventual winners Atletico Madrid in the quarter-finals.
The opening leg will take place at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium, famed for its artificial
grass, and defender Johan Djourou says it shouldn't be a problem.
"Yes, that is going to be a difference because obviously I don't even remember the last time
I played on a pitch (artificial) like that for an official game. But I think (the game)
it will be a bit slower because, obviously, it is not really grass and it goes faster.
But we are pro (professional) and we have to be ready for that kind of different circumstances.
It doesn't really matter, we just have to deal with it and try to do our best."
Anzhi and Hannover have never met before.
This is Anzhi's first tie against German opponents and Hannover's maiden encounter with a Russian
club.
