Hello guys, this is Ilias the Ranting Greek Gamer and today i thought to give you my first impressions of Jojo's All Star Battle for the PS3,
if you are not familliar with Jojo's Bizzare Adventure,
its a very popular manga that celebrates its 25th birthday this year,
so Cyberconnect 2, celebrates the occasions by releasing Jojo's All Star Battle for the PS3,
those of you who are an Otaku and a gamer, Cyberconnect 2 must be familliar to you,
its the company that has made the Naruto Ultimate Ninja games for the PS2,
and the Ninja Ultimate Ninja Storm games for the PS3.
And Jojo's All Star Battle is their latest creation.
Visually, its a beautiful game from what you can see,
the graphics are gorgeous - and they are probably the best cel shaded graphics that i have ever seen in a game of this genre.
The characters look very life-like,
and generally, this is a fighting game that bursts with activity in it,
there is a generous amount of interactivity in the levels where you will be playing,
you can use the level's interactions to damage your opponents,
or even do ultimate attacks or finishers.
So yeah, we are talking about a fighting game that interacts a lot with the world where it is based in.
As you can see, Jojo's All Star Battle does not follow the same formula as the Ultimate Ninja Storm games.
Its a 3D fighter but it plays strictly on the 2D plane,
And i would say that the game is a combination between Street Fighter IV and King of the Fighters (although not as complex).
So those of you who are familliar with those games, you might have some advantage on your hands.
As for the combos and the movesets,
i would say that there is a small learning curve when it comes to the combos you can make and discover,
but not to a degree as to discourage someone who is new in fighting games.
The combat system is completely different from the Ninja Storm games,
because we are talking about an entirely different fighting game - thus an entire different battle system.
The battles last a lot longer,
And strategizing is a key element to this game,
meaning that you cannot just charge blindly to your opponent and start combos, no way.
It takes patience and some strategy to close the distance between you and your opponent,
and start your attacks and your combos.
It goes without saying that you must learn your character very well,
But what i like in the game the most so far (eventhough i havent unlocked all the characters yet),
is the uniqueness that each character seems to have.
Each character seems to be working with a completely different style,
and this is one of the most important elements of the game for me.
The fact that each character feels different and plays differently.
Which means that each character is a whole new experience for you to experience and discover.
There are two kinds of characters in the game: Those who use the Stands and those who use the Hamon (Ripple energy),
and they play very differently from eachother... whoa..! xD
So we are talking about different gameplay styles between those two character classes.
It goes without saying that the game has Ultimate moves and Special moves as well,
And ofc the characters are showing off like crazy :P
so you will see them do a lot of "fabulous poses" xD
So if you are Jojo fans, you will be fully satisfied and then some.
Note that the game is out only in Japan and Asia and i had to import it,
but it is confirmed that a localized version will reach western shores in 2014.
So if you want to find an anime brawler to replace Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 3,
i dont think that there is a better choice than this game.
I have tried some matches online and believe me, the competition is huge,
as there are many skilled players out there.
I will upload some online matches within the week so that you can see for yourselves,
and those where my first impressions for the game,
i hope that you liked it and i hope that you will get it so that we can play online against each other some day :)
Thats all folks, thanks for watching, take care! :)
