Hello. Um, this is going to be me um, singing "Giants in the Sky", um, because this is,
well, it is a practice tape for me, um, because I frequently go on auditions, and so, yeah,
I do need critics for this, so, please comment. Um, okay, and, um, I... probably won't have
music in the background, um, because music, uh, it does tend to distract me at first,
until I get used to the song, and... and I am used to this song, but I don't know what
music I'll be playing, and so I won't be used to singing it with that music, so, yeah, and,
uh, I mean, I can sing on the beat once I know the music and once I'm, sort of, familiar
and comfortable with it. Um, but it takes me, you know, a couple of tries, so, um, hold
on, let me see if there are any, if there's, uh, any recording of the instrumental version
of "Giants in the Sky", um, that I'm-I'm already pretty familiar with. Hold on. Ok, let's try
this first one. Let me see if I know this one well. (music plays) "...in the sky.."
"do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, hm, hm, hm, hm, ba, ba,
da, da, (humming)" Yeah, okay, I don't really know this one well, so I think I'll just,
uh, actually I'll, I'm just gonna do this without music in the background, and so, you
gotta picture the music, heh heh! Okay, (clears throat), "There are Giants in the Sky, There
are big, tall, terrible Giants in the Sky. When you're way up high and you look below
at the world you've left and the things you know little more than a glance is enough to
show you just how small you are. When you're way up high and you're on your own in a world
like none that you're ever known where the sky is lead and the earth is stone, you're
free, to do whatever pleases you. Exploring things you'd never dare, 'cause you don't
care, 'til suddenly there's a big, tall, terrible Giant at the door. A big, tall, terrible,
lady Giant sweeping the floor. And she gives you food and she gives you rest, and she draws
you close to her Giant breast, and you know things now that you never knew before. Not
'til the sky. Only just when you've made a friend and all, and you know she's big, but
you don't feel small, someone bigger than her comes along the hall to swallow you for
lunch! And your heart is lead and your stomach stone and you're really scared being all alone.
And it's then that you miss all the things you've known, and the world you've left, and
the little you own! The fun is done! You steal what you can and run! And you scramble down
and you look below and the world you know begins to GROW. The roof, the house, and your
mother at the door...the roof, the house, and the world you never thought to explore.
And you think of all of the things you've seen, and you wish that you could live in
between, and you're back again, only different than before...after the sky. There are Giants
in the Sky! There are big, tall, terrible, awesome, scary, WONDERFUL GIANTS, IN THE SKY!"
Okay, uh, there it was. I know I missed a couple of notes, but, um, I usually do a little
better than that, um, and I know I messed up one lyric, um, which, (groans), happens
to me occasionally, but, usually before auditions, I practice the song for, like, at least days
and days, usually more, um, and so I don't mess up the lyrics normally during auditions.
Not anymore, anyway, I mean, the first one or two I went on, oh, my god, they were disasters
(laughs at self.) Um, okay, so, now I'm gonna watch this video and see if I feel like it's
a good video to, um, use to judge my skills. Um, if it is, then I'm gonna put it on YouTube
right away. Uh, if it's not, then I'll probably make another one and, uh, put that one on
YouTube pretty soon. Um, (clicks tongue), yeah, so please be completely honest, 'cause
I gotta know what the directors would really be thinking. Um, and if you are, you know,
a director, or an actor or actress, or if-if you've ever been in charge of casting something,
please, PLEASE comment. I-I need your, uh, opinions, because I've sorta just started
out acting, so, yeah. I've only been going on auditions for about a year now, and so,
yeah. Can't believe it's really been a year. Yep, my-my first audition was last January
for "To Kill a Mockingbird." Gosh, it doesn't seem like it's been that long. Okay, anyway,
bye!
