Over the past 50 years, U of t Scarborough has grown from a small, comprehensive university, to a top-tier
research university. I'm amazing by the diverse array
and the excellence of all the researchers we have across a number of different departments
from humanities, to sciences that are pushing the boundaries of knowledge, learning in new ways,
teaching students new ways of thinking and trying to solve global problems with new approaches.
UTSC is really on the cutting edge of research, pushing forward new ideas, and this is being recognized
in terms of the awards that our faculty are winning, the honours that are being bestowed upon them.
UTSC is really hitting its stride in research.
The goal of this lecture series is to engage students, faculty, staff in thought-provoking lectures
that really push the boundaries of what we know and understand.
We're proud to be showcasing by biologists, environmental scientists, historians, mathematicians, psychologists from across our campus.
Many of these researchers approach topics that are very important for the modern world, and we hope
to start conversations with the broader community about some of these important topics.
We hope you'll join us.
We'll be holding monthly lectures through the academic year.
