mourning the loss of a 16 year
old killed yesterday.
Hank Evans died after a long-
boarding accident. Long boards
are long skateboards. He fell
going down a steep hill at a
park in Urbandale. He just
finished his sophomore year at
Johnston High school and played
on the school's football team.
Our Ryan smith is live tonight
where a candlelight vigil just
wrapped up.
Genuine. Fun loving. Those are
Just a couple words we heard
over and over tonight - used to
describe hank Evans.
The night ended with a
candlelight vigil here at the
Johnston evangelical free
church. His family attends this
church. Hank's youth pastor ,
jay quick, says longboarding was
the 16-year-old's passion. His
life came to an end doing
something he loved. Earlier -
Hundreds of his classmates and
family members gathered to
remember the good times with
hank. Hank's friends wrote
messages on notecards and
posters for his parents. Nearly
two dozen people took to the
podium to share their personal
stories.

Hank was an organ donor.
According to family members,
through his donation, eight
people in need have been helped.
