Hi, I thought we could take a ride in this nice weather. Do you feel like it?
Here is this MERIDA MATTS5, which we have conversed with an electrical front wheel.
Let's try how it feels riding it.
This has been the first round but I have not switched the electrical wheel on yet.
Now let's take a look at how we have transformed this bike in the workshop.
I would like to introduce you to a new outstanding thing. You not only make your bike cooler
but on the top of all that it is going to be more effective this way.
First we transform this MERIDA bike with this electrical wheel and then we'll try it. Let's see what's in the box.
This is the wheel I was talking about.
Az electric motor, and the thick, double-wall alloy rim can be seen.
However this is not simply an electrical wheel but a whole electrical bike transformer kit. Therefore all we need is packed in this box.
First we can see the instructions in English and there are also a few cable ties.
In this box you can find the battery charger's adapter, this is a bag for the controller,
and here in this box there is the controller itself, and the accessories.
Finally in this box we can find one of the most important things:
the 36V 9000mAh battery.
We are going to set it up to the place of the water bottle holder.
We can easily get it apart from the adapter with this key, this stays on the frame, this comes with us.
If we would like to know how well the battery is charged, the battery capacity indicator can always indicate it for us.
Let's take a closer look at the wheel.
The rim is formed both to be used with a V brake and with a disc brake.
Now we take a look at the bike, this is a MERIDA MATTS 5 one.
We are unpacking it and ask Csabi to help us to assemble it.
Our bike is here on the stand. We'll need a few transformations which we'll show you right away.
Firstly and most importantly we have to change the brakes for special brakes supplied with a special microswitch.
For transforming the handlebar we'll need size 3 and a size 5 allen wrenches.
We loosen the screws and we pull the both the brake and the throttle backward.
Temporarily we take the handlebar off as well as the old assembly and we are ready to put the new one here later.
We'll do the same transformation on the other side as well.
After loosening everything well, we take all the unnecessary parts from this side as well.
After taking everything off the handlebar, first we put the power control back, then the brake, and last we put the gear back.
We fix the power control, the brake and the gear.
We also put the brake, the gear and the grip back on the other side.
Our next task is to remove the middle part. When we finish this we have to put it back together with the beacon.
It is worth placing the signal generator (beacon) the way it could not be damaged.
When we place back the middle part it is also worth paying attention to the course.
After we set the beacon, we put the other part of the
senzor with the arrows, with the magnetized surface inwards onto the axis.
If we finished with this, the pedal can be set on its place.
Provided we had a water-bottle holder, now we can forget about it. Or we'll have to get another one,
since we install the adapter instead of the bottle holder, where the battery can be set.
Let's fix the battery into its place. I would advise you to find a safe place for our keys,
since we can only remove it with them.
Now let's start with the most interesting part: let's set the wheel in.
You could see how we transformed the bike in the workshop.
As the last action we led the cables from the safety brake, the wheel and the battery to this small bag, where the power control is.
We switch the device with the red button below the battery capacity indicator and at once we can behold the battery capacity level.
At this point we can say the bike is ready for use. The thumb throttle can help us to start the bike.
It is an interesting thing that when we do not want to use the electric wheel, we just switch it off,
the wheels keep rolling, and the rolling resistance is almost zero.
There's nothing left just going right!
I am starting the bike without any electrical assistance, and right after 2-3 pedaling,
yes, this is it! The engine started, and it is pulling me downwards gorgeously.
This is a slight slope. Otherwise I am telling you the bike is at its highest gear.
It is going tremendously fast, still with these thick tires. At this point I am turning my way
and I'd like to know how it is working uphill. I am not going to pull the throttle on purpose
just to feel and see how it is starting going uphill. 2-3 pedalling and yes,
this is crazy. On a slight slope upwards I am pedalling with ease!
I would not be able to do this at this gear. Besides this I am used to road bikes. I can ride against the wind easily,
This is crazy. A new dimension in biking. This is cool! Another turn, I'm fine from the left,
not interested in the right, I am testing the throttle, pulling, and it is gorgeous.
