The Summer Bridge Program is an opportunity for students to work on those
areas of weakness, to get them ready for their fall semester.
My senior year in high school, I felt like
I wasn't very much prepared for college.
I didn't know that it was going to be so fast paced.
I was not at all prepared for college.
I was excited, because I didn't feel prepared,
but I was willing to do whatever I had to do to be prepared.
When I saw the people that showed up for the
program, I thought to myself, "Oh, I'm not the only person that's taking this".
I felt so welcomed.
The tutors were very helpful. They were there
whenever you needed them.
It is flexible, that means a student who is working or in an internship can also participate
because they can come in as their schedule allows.
You could come in the morning, come in the
afternoon, it was even pretty late in the evenings sometimes.
I was able to work and attend the Summer Bridge
program at the same time.
So I would come in the morning, and have the afternoon to myself.
My advice to incoming freshman would be that
they take advantage of the Summer Bridge program and continue to work with the Academic Commons
throughout their college career.
Summer Bridge program is a great program.
I achieved something that I, that I didn't think I could.
