Welcome to the Law School, and the Law Library. I am D.R. Jones, Associate Dean, Law Library
Director, and Assistant Professor of Law. I would like to tell you about the Law Library
and Information Technology. The Law Library is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, 365
days a year for your use. All you need is your student ID to get into the building when
the Library and Law School building are not open. They are not open during the evenings,
weekends and on holidays. You have access to the full facilities in the library, including
all study rooms and computer labs, even though the law school building is closed. The Law
Library is located on all five floors of the law school building on the south side of the
law school. The library has many different kinds of study areas for your use. We have
open tables with views of the Mississippi River. We have study rooms for group study.
We have carrels for individual study, and more focused study. Most of these carrels
are located on level three of the library. You do not need to reserve any of these study
spaces, they are open for your use at all times. If you need assistance with research
or would like to know more about library services or facilities, you can consult the law librarians
and the library staff. They are available Monday through Friday at the Circulation and
Reference Desk on level one of the Library. You can also consult our website, which is
accessible through the law school website, just click on library and technology. For
your computing needs, the law school has full wireless access throughout the building. We
also have wireless printing. There are two computer labs in the library, level two and
level four, that provide computers with hard wiring. We also have computers in some carrels
in the library. If you have questions about information technology, including how to access
wireless service, wireless printing, other printing, email, or other topics, you can
consult the library webpage and click on technology. We also have IT staff to assist you with specific
questions. Their contact information is located on the technology page. The Law Library will
be an important part of your law school education, we look forward to serving you.
