There was a big increase in the number of colleagues in GLTC in 2006.
I was working in IT and most of the colleagues were male
and colleagues in GSC
were mainly female.
So we thought getting everyone together would help them socialise.
Speed dating, actually, is very common in China.
You can watch it
on TV games organised by the big corporations
and this is also very common
for our company, as well.
I think this type of activity can help colleagues
to get to know more people.
If they fall in love, then that's wonderful.
Even if they don't, it's a great help
to their work and lives.
My social circle is getting smaller
since I started work.
It is difficult to make friends
with the opposite sex.
Especially in the Software Development team,
there are only a few females.
And I want to make more friends.
My working hours
are fixed from nine to six.
I'm not able to make new friends
and it's comparatively difficult
to meet new boys or have a romance.
So I want to meet more people through these activities.
I found it very good meeting colleagues within HSBC
and having the chance to meet someone I like
and develop that further.
What I got this time is that I have made friends with lots of colleagues
from different departments, including females.
One of the girls is from our committee.
During the activity, she met Mr Right
and they got married and have a lovely girl already.
This is the first time I participated.
I will take part again.
We will continue to arrange these kinds of activities
to bring more opportunity for our employees
to meet each other and make friends.
