Melanie Adamski: I know that many of our students at QC Makeup Academy are
very exited to get into the field of makeup for fashion and runway. What
advice do you have for those students?
Nathan Johnson: You've got to go for it. You have to go for it. Keying a
show takes a little while. The best thing you can do is you
can start to volunteer, and you can start to contact the
key artists whose work you really respect. Show them
examples of your work and see if you can get hired for a
job. I can't tell you the number of times I've brought
people in who just sent me a really enthusiastic letter. I
can't tell you. Most importantly, be nice. The letters that
would come to me were so nice, and I'd be like, "You know
what? I should give that person a try." And I've met some
artists I've really, really loved who just messaged me on
Facebook or sent me an email, [a million other things].
Melanie Adamski: Wow.!
