Hi, this is attorney
Chuck Boyk and I'm here to answers
some of the
typical questions I receive on work injury cases.
How can I collect for my lost wages? Under Ohio law
under the Bureau of workers compensation you're able to collect lost wages through a
concept called
temporary total disability. In order to receive temporary total disability you
have to have an allowed claim
for a specific medical condition and then there's a specific form that you
and the doctor fill out releasing you from being able to do your work
for a specific time period, so for example
if it's from January 1st in till March 1st the
doctor would fill that out and then you would receive something called temporary
total disability that will pay you two-thirds
of your wages for the period of time. Sometimes you don't need an attorney to
help you get temporary total disability,
but often you're going to need to retain an attorney
to describe your legal rights and to make sure that the employer
does not kick you off of temporary total disability
by having you go to their defense
medical exam. So for all your legal rights
please read our book at The Ohio Work Injury Book,
and you'll find out your legal rights for collecting lost wages
under temporary total disability.
