With all this disruption that's happening regarding the video responses and YouTube
there's something Google seems to have forgotten and that's today's big time YouTubers with
all their millions of subscribers and making lots of money for Google were yesterday's
small time YouTubers. But if they continue to alienate off todays small time uploaders
where are they going to get tomorrows big time YouTubers from. Because the big time
crowd are not going to be here for ever. Some will move on to other things, others will
just fall out of fashion. So if Google will treat the smaller video makers with perhaps
a bit more respect then they'll have access to a huge reservoir of talent and experience
for the future and that in turn will please their advertisers so that they will be able
to fill the gaps when the current big time guys and girls go on to other things. However
if they continue to do what they are doing than as soon as someone like Yahoo even Amazon
who have plenty of experience of streaming videos through their Lovefilms division, any
of them come along and offer a better volgging experience then I think a lot of people will
be saying goodbye to YouTube and jumping ship. And as we've seen with MySpace if an origination
upsets its core user base then it can really very quickly fall from being high and mighty
down to almost total insignificance. Goodbye.
