Hi. I'm Dr. John Routes.
I am the medical director of Allergy and Clinical Immunology here at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin and I'm
professor of pediatrics and section head of Allergy and Clinical Immunology at
Medical College of Wisconsin.
We're a nationally and internationally recognized program
of excellence in primary immune deficiency.
Not only do we see kids and adults,
but we really provide a cutting edge state-of-the-art care and do research
that's funded by the National Institute of Health to really further our
knowledge and better our treatment outcomes for patients with primary
immune deficiency.
We frequently will spend well over an hour just
talking with the patient and the family.
Once the diagnosis is made, we have carefully developed treatment plants and
individualized these for every patient.
So, we've really worked hard to try to have this sort of team approach.
And the nice thing is that because we're located right at Children's, if you
need other technical studies, CT scans, MRIs, you name it, we can schedule them
right here at Children's. So, we can really hone in on the problems.
I think that we are setting trends on a nationwide level, trends of excellence in
diagnosis and treatment of these primary immunodeficiency deficiencies.
