Alright we've got our frame and we've got everything wiped down and now what we're going
to do is pay a little bit of attention to the inside of the barrel so I've got my bore
snake here in 45 caliber. Now the 45 caliber bore snake is going to work with any 45 caliber
gun that you have whether it is ACP, long colt, 45 Schofield or any other one like that
just simply because the 45 is the actual diameter of the bullet that you're going to be working
with. I have my hoppies here and I have my bore snake and just to show you a little bit
about this bore snake, at the end if a brass piece and this brass piece helps you drop
the string down through the barrel which is kind of nice. It is attached to the strong
and the strong then comes over to the swab part and about three inches in here you can
see that, that is 45 caliber diameter brushes and what those brushes are going to do is
help clean out the rifling in the grooves inside of our barrel. It is going to get out
the led deposits or the copper deposits from the full metal jackets out of your firearm.
It is going to get the deposits out of your firearm and make it look real good. The we've
got the rest of our swab here. This area right in between the brushes and where the string
attaches to the swab I just fold this area in half and this is the part of the bore snake
that I am actually going to use to put my hoppies on. Now my hoppies are going to touch
the inside of my barrel first, followed by my brushes, followed by a swab. It is actually
quite a revolutionary thing considering that you used to use a push rod, a jag, three individual
brushes and 50 patches to clean out the inside of the barrel. What we are going to do now
is just get it in one swoop. We may do one or two passes with the bore snake but the
bore snake is going to take up all those steps in one step. So let's get to it.
