"I want to be the blogger for Erasmus en Flandes" (scene 1 // take 2013)
Hello, my name is Oriol Salvador
I was born in Barcelona, in 1988
In 2007, I created my first blog and since then I have worked on various
platforms and different projects.
(by the way, I'm currently studying Journalism)
In an almost improvised way, in 2011 I created my first blog about travelling.
In "7 días en Beitostølen" I explain the trip to Norway that summer, which started
with a quick visit to Madrid. The blog is named "7 días en Beitostølen"
because Beitostølen is the city where we had the apartment and from there we
travelled around the country. About a year after, I had my
the great opportunity: going to study abroad in Canada.
I was in Kamloops for eight months. This is a small city in
the interior of British Columbia. I've just landed from that trip. Indeed...
I have to unpack my luggage once I finish this video.
I liked to explain a trip on a blog and this is the reason why I
created #fromkamloops to share photos, videos, thoughts...
and stories that were publshed in local media while I was there.
"Wait a minute!!!! #fromkamloops is not so similar to the idea of no Erasmus en Flandes? You're their perfect candidate!"
"¿¡Sh... really?!"
Yes, I think I am (whispering)
What I like about blogging while travelling around the world
is to share experiences and thoughts that will
encourage others to travel.
and... ¿Why just write a blog about it when you can also
tweet it?
Let's see
"@erasmusflandes retweeted me!"
... or share it on Facebook?
"Turismo de Bélgica: Flandes y Bruselas likes this" Good.
... or add a nice Instagram filter?
"40 'likes'!"
Yes, I'm one of those into social media. I've got Facebook, Twiter, Instagram, Flickr, Youtube...
Pinterest
I even have the new version of MySpace, even no one else use it anymore
and I always forget to delete my account at Tuenti (Spanish social media platform)
Let's be honest:
I barely know a thing about Ghent, the city where I'm doing the Erasmus program this year
"Google... 'gante wikipedia' I'm feeling lucky..."
But I want to find out about it
and share my experiencie in a blog. And if the blog is Erasmus en Flandes...
this would be f... awesome
I have a laptop
An smartphone
A photo camera
and I know how to use them.
I want to go live music gigs, festivals, cinema, theatre, museums, bars, ...
restaurants... I want to ride a bike around the city of Gent.
I want to wonder around the streets, ramble in the parks, I want to meet
the people of Ghent and I want you to come with me, even virtually.
Are you ready?
