Hello and welcome to this training video. Today I will show you how to make gaps in
a silo stripe line when you are working with silos.
I will be using Layher Allround Scaffold and if you use a different brand you may notice
differences in measurement and equipment. Let’s start off by building a simple round
wall, like so, and we will quickly add a stripe line to it so we can begin working with the
function. As you can see, I have a simple scaffold and
a simple stripe line around my silo. Often there is a problem with common utility lines
going up to the top of the silo, so we will need to remove some equipment to make space
for these lines. We can do this very simply by right clicking and using the function called
add gap. We will select where we want the gap to start and we drag the gap line to how
far it should be open to and click again when we are satisfied with the placement. Let’s
do one more, just to illustrate how it actually works, and you can see that when I move it
the system automatically calculates the remaining sections so that we can still maintain a useful
scaffold structure. When we are satisfied with the position we can select update bay
settings, and now we have the two gaps that we will need
Let’s add the structure and generate the scaffold. In 3d mode you can see that here we have our
first gap and here we have our second gap.
