Hi I'm Rachel Giblon and I'm going into my
fourth year here at York University and majoring in Biophysics.
When I first came to York I really didn`t know
what I wanted to do, a lot of people really have a strong feeling
of what they`re interested in but I didn't really have that
The thing about York is
that I really had an opportunity to try a lot of different classes
and meet with a lot of different people.
And it gave me a really strong idea of what I was really connected to so when I was in high school
I always thought that I was interested in physics, it was one of the courses I had taken
and really enjoyed but I was never sure
if there's something I can do at the university level, especially in a
university like York where a lot of times
its a huge campus, huge school, there's so many students
and you might feel like you're just a number and you're just you know
one of 50,000 students who are enrolled
and I think that one of the biggest discoveries I made at
York was that I'm not a number, I'm an individual
Because of my experience at York, I now feel that I have the confidence to
apply to all the graduate programs that I want to.
Going now into my fourth year, I really feel like I have a good
foundation
and a good basis to pursue my education.
I really feel that the courses at York and the people at
York have really helped me develop as an individual and
kind of become the person I wanted to be
