bjbjLULU Galapagos doves use their curved beaks to pick up seeds primarily off the ground.
They also sometimes eat cactus pulp. Darwin s finches come in many varieties. These small
ground finches are dimorphic with the males being the darker color. Perhaps one of the
more curious birds of the group is the Galapagos mockingbird. These mockingbirds can often
be seen running along the ground searching for insects, fruits, plants, nectar, carrion,
eggs and more making this bird an omnivore or foraging generalist. The medium ground
finch, another one of Darwin s finches, can be distinguished from the small ground finch
by its thick beak which it uses to crack larger seeds as it is doing here. Darwin s finches
are best classified by the size and shapes of their beaks which has allowed the birds
to become highly adapted to specific foods. urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags
