I'm going to show you how you can print to PAWPrints from your own Apple computer. First,
make sure you're connected either by Brown-Secure wireless or an ethernet cable on the Brown
campus, other wireless networks won't work with this. Next, you can open the PAWPrints
documentation page by going to brown.edu/go/pawprints and then clicking the Setup and Printing Instructions
link. On this page you'll find a link to download the HP printer driver for Mac. Once you've
downloaded that driver, double click it to install and follow the instructions. Now that
I've installed the printer driver, I'm going to open my System Preferences - I'll click
on the apple, System Preferences - and choose Print & Scan. I'm going to be adding a new
printer, so I click the plus sign. The type of printer is IP. For the address, I want
to type my Brown username, the @ sign, and then cisuniprint.ad.brown.edu. For the queue,
I'm going to type PAWPrints. The name is for my own reference, so I'll just type PAWPrints
there so I can find it later. From the Print Using dropdown, I want to Select Printer Software,
and then type 9000 in the search field to find the HPLaserJet 9000 Series printer. As
I'm adding the printer, I'll be able to designate that it does duplex printing, and then click
OK. Now when I'm printing something, I want to look for the printer called PAWPrints,
which is the name that I gave it when adding the printer. I can print to it and then release
the print job as usual at the print release station.
