"Ode to the Moon"
by Miguel D´Addario
My Moon, Moon of all.
Silver coin, circle night.
Internationalist!
From north to south and from east to west,
the whole earth, you light up.
Pupil of the night,
Sleepwalker lantern
stubborn night owl:
Hug me! Old lonely
that alone I know you, we know,
despite your effulgent guardians
Always watch us envious.
My Moon, Moon of all!
Attached to our misfortune
in the bloodshed;
witness the bodies thrown,
of deaths perpetrated,
rendered cried many nights,
embraced by your light.
Universalist!
loving the sun and asteroids:
Do not go away yet...
Spying my beloved,
from my enemies,
of my comrades.
Moon of all!
jump into my window
we asleep the dream
of lunatics somnolent.
