We feel that this sentence is what he wants us to do, and that’s our mission.
Welcoming and orientating a new class of brown fellows this is our third class
20 of the most outstanding students not only in Kentucky but across the country
This just typlifies what we’re about.
We don’t want to be the biggest many presidents talk about
their enrollment we talk about the quality of our students
so we want to recruit the very best students.
It’s kind of funny in Texas the saying is “what’s bigger is better”
but I can see where he is coming from saying that you
want the best it’s not always quantity, it’s quality.
Louisville is a great University. I think one of the main things that
stuck out to me was along with this scholarship was their
motivation for attracting higher level students, they were more
worried about the quality of a student versus the quantity
that some of the other universities were worried about.
UofL is working on being like one of the top-notch schools
in the country so this scholarship is focusing on getting it up there
which is really exciting for the students going there.
The scholarship works on getting the students involved
in a lot of extracurriculars and kind of going above and beyond
what a lot of other students do so were going
a lot of other students are doing international travel, do internships,
study abroad, people go all over the world so it’s really exciting.
So we want to recruit the very best students give them the opportunity
to be successful at the University of Louisville and then to move on
whether its work or whether it’s professional schools or graduate
schools but we’re after the very best and certainly these are the very best.
