The talk in Washington, as it should be, is about cutting our deficit,
but to do so we have to deal with some hard truths.
But my Republican friends seem to be living in a fantasy world.
Contrary what Republicans want to believe failing to pay our bills would
actually increase the deficit,
because among other things,
our interest rates would skyrocketed up.
The impacts for families would be devastating as Mark Zandi said today.
Social security benefits
would certainly be at risk
so would verteran's benefits, unemployment benefits,
paychecks for our troops, and virtually everything within the federal government.
Retirements funds and 401K's would be devastated.
But Republicans don't seem to be care about the consequences to middle-class
Americans.
They care of more about protecting tax breaks
for oil companies,
companies that ship jobs overseas,
even people who own corporate jets and
yachts.
Republicans should start accepting the hard truths we face could work with us
to do the right thing for the middle class instead of protecting millionaires and
big corporations at all costs.
