My name is Brandon Sarkis on behalf of Expert Village. Today I'm going to show you how to
actually make eggnog and stop buying that nasty stuff in the carton at the grocery store.
Let's take a second to go down the list of things we're going to need for today's eggnog
recipe. First things first. We're going to need four and a half cups of milk. Just plain
old milk. This is actually two percent milk. It doesn't matter what kind you use. You'll
just end up with a much richer product if you use a much richer milk. For example, whole
milk would actually be ideal, so. If you want to make it ridiculously over the top, you
can always use half and half. But I don't recommend that because it's not very sweet.
You'd have to add extra sugar for that. You're also going to need four eggs. Just plain old
large grade A eggs. The kind you get from your grocery store or from your local neighborhood
chicken. I've also got a 5 ounce can of condensed milk or this is also known as evaporated milk.
It's going to be really really sweet. This is where you get some of the sweetness out
of. So a little five ounce can of that. Got one tablespoon of granulated sugar here. Just
normal white sugar. I have one teaspoon of vanilla extract here as well. It's always
handy. You can also use the imitation stuff if you like. But that's the real stuff. I
also have one ounce of rum. I'm using an aged spiced rum. I wouldn't use a white rum for
this because white rum doesn't have enough of its own flavor. If you ask me, it's just
kind of a, you know, it's just kind of there for the lightness aspect of it. I would go
with something spiced or something seasoned. I've also got just a little spice thing here
of nutmeg and one of cinnamon. Both of these, we're going to use these for the garnish the
end. You just get a little sprinkle on top of each glass. So, now that we know what goes
in it, let see what we have to use to actually do the recipe and we'll go from there.
