Around 3% of doctors are Maori.
But numbers are steadily increasing,
and a trio of young men from Ngati Hine represent
that positive change.
They all graduated today with degrees in Medicine.

These descendants of Hineamaru are now doctors.
These Ngati Hine doctors received their bachelor's degrees in medicine
from the University of Auckland,
and Dr Brown is excited for what's ahead.
Dr Zanazir Alexander says he had so many role models.
Dr Ezra Nordstrom is all about betting back to his roots.
He acknowledges Te Puna Hauora o Ngati Hine
for their support through the years.
This trio encourages Maori to get into medicine.
No doubt Ngati Hine is proud of you all.
