Welcome to the first leg of your Road Trip
Now you've turned 16 you can apply for your learner licence.
So what do you actually need to do? First, blow out the candles. That's a fire hazard mate.
Then, if you haven't already, read Your keys to driving in Queensland. You can download the most up-to-date version in the Glovebox or buy one at your local newsagent.
Next, you'll come face-to-face with the incredible F3000.
Which is actually just the number of the Driver Licence Application form you can download and fill in at home.
Then get your ID documents together.
Take your completed form, some money and all your ID to your nearest driver licence issuing centre.
You don't want to turn up with the wrong ID and have to come back.
So see the Evidence of Identity fact sheet in the Glovebox.
Then you have to declare yourself medically fit.
Finally, there's a written road rules test. But we really want you to pass so there's a practice road rules test online to help you.
Once you pay for the test and pass it, you've earned your learner licence.
Pay for your learners and then you're ready to hit the road with your supervisor.
Congratulations!
