So I'm here with Baths
We just watched his show live
And it was totally freakin amazing
I gotta say I was really really impressed
Thank you very much
I mean seriously. I listened to the album a lot
And when I heard that you would be performing, I thought
It might not translate that well
But it was a lot better than I expected
Thank you very much
We tried
No, I mean like... This was really good.
Thank you
Honestly, this was really... really good
I mean. This was really good.
I don't think you understand
It was pretty good, I guess
So onto a real question:
You are in Korea for what? 24 hours?
Yeah, I think something like that
Before you came to Korea
what were your expectations about the country
And what really surprised you when you came here?
I had very warped expectations
because I knew Korea pretty much from "Revenge trilogy"[a.k.a. "Vengeance trilogy"]
Ok
Right.
So I didn't know what to think.
Oh I know they have very intense film makers
That was kind of my whole perspective
And people *** each other all of the time here
It was very warped
But when I got here
It blew everything
I only spent one full day here
And we rode around all afternoon
And it was amazing
And it's so much fun
And I did lots of shopping
Tons of eating
Too much eating.
It was great
It was just exactly the kind of urban place that I'm super comfortable with
Most surprising thing here?
Maybe the very first baguette that I had
That I when...
Oh no... Oh no...
That was bad or good? Wait, what?
Did you enjoy it?
Yeah, I loved it.
I loved it. Surprising in a good way
That it was like: I put it on a tray and I thought that it was going to be terrible
because it felt rock-hard
And then I opened it up
And it was super warm and delicious
Do you remember where you got this?
October was the name of the place
Ok, because I thought you were going to say "Paris baguette"
which I shouldn't really slander right here
They don't make good baguettes here
So baguettes are usually terrible?
yes.
Geez yes they are. They are really rock-hard inside and out
Did you use butter?
That was the trick
It was rock-*** the inside, and then I opened it
And it was beautiful
It was the best baguette I've ever had
So "October". Promotion
October baguettes
yeah
So you sing in English... English music
What is it like performing to an audience whose 1st language isn't English?
How was the response?
What were you expecting?
Uh, it's kind of beautifully the same everywhere
Is that right?
Yeah. At least for me and my experience
It's kind of like... The music is weird enough that people are kind of not sure to the same extent
Anywhere in the world
And then they'll grow into it
Especially where it's an audience where people haven't seen this played live
It's pretty much most places that we've played outside of the States
And then it'd be like
a slow transition into being more comfortable
And then they'd be really stoked
it's usually like: I say something in English
People are still stoked to hear me say anything
I'd be like "Hey, it's really cool to see you, guys"
And then they'd say "yeah" or whatever
And then I'd be like "I don't know what I'm doing" "yeah"
So...
You were really comfortable on stage
Speaking with people
Even though you weren't comfortable with the language itself
yeah, I tried Korean.
They appreciated.
It worked
wait, what was "Thank you"....
Kamsahapnida
There you go.
Is that right?
There you go, you've got it.
Eyyy~ [S]You're like half-way to being fluent
Eeey~ I did it. I looked straight into the B hole
I see you.
Ok, so let us know what else are you doing?
Where can other people see you around the world?
If you go to anticon
a-n-t-i-c-o-n dot com slash events
It's all my tour dates
Posted in a giant list
And we're doing more of South East Asia and then we're going to States
And Australia and New Zealand
And then I also have a new EP coming out very soon
Awesome
I don't know when. But very soon.
So keep an eye
And you play one song form your new EP
Yes, we're playing everywhere, me and Morgan
So any show that you see us and hear our song "Ocean Death"
It's the 1st track of the new EP
It's really good
It's good.
Thanks
It was a really good song
Thank you
I mean this was the first time I heard this song
And I thought it was like... Holy ***, this was a really good song
You know sometimes you have an album that is good
And then the album after is like meh, it's not too good
But this was just as good as the songs I heard in the other album
Thank you
Really.
Can you tell me some more?
About it?
Thank you Seoul, South Korea
Thank you for coming to the show
It was great
And I cannot wait to come back
