Ola Amigas, it has been a while
Now I decided to do a once a week Art Journal
It's a fun and easy way to relieve stress
And exloring different technique
Let us begin
I start by tearing the edges of my art journal
I will keep the torn paper for future project
As if to create a"layered" background
Then I take my old origami paper because it has nice writings
I tear them to give organic look
I am doing on all 4 sides
Color the edges with Ranger Vintage Photo Distress Ink
To remove the plain white edge look
Using squegee to press out the air bubble from gluing
Using Ranger Distress Paint Dabber
Using baby wipes to blend the color. The Ranger paint works very well into the pages and no flaky residue
I am only showing the technique but I am not going to make you sit and watch the whole process.
It's boring really but I trust you get the idea
This technique I use in decoupage aswell
Using white gesso so the rice paper will look brighter
Especially if you are sticking on darker color background
Brush lightly. You can use acryllic paint but gesso has less "water" and dry faster.
Now stencil time... I am using paint dabber directly to my page
Then using the left over residue on stencil
Wiping it off to my page
You never waste anything when art journaling
See how much of the paints stretch out
And now another stencil, using Ranger Vintage Photo now
One of my favorite Ranger Ink color Spiced Marmalade
I seems to go with anything
Before gluing on top of the ink. Make sure the ink is dry
Distress ink seemed dry when you touch it but when it got mixed with anything water , the color disapper
I am gluing with Matte Medium because it has very little water content so the ranger ink doesn't dissolve
Actually Deco Art Matte Medium is the best for gluing
It has the right texture and consistency for gluing
Now Chickadee Postale stencil
With Dylan Ravelry Dylusion Ink in Black
Using carbon pencil to make frame edge on the post card .
I am only showing a tiny bit, so you don't have to watch the whole thing
Now time for Brave Stencil
Again using Dylusion Ink in Black
And coloring the edge of the paper so it don't look plain
I want to give the Brave a more bolder and glossier look
I applied the Heavy Gloss Medium over the word
When dried it will be clear and glossy
Soften the edge of the post card with blending tool
