My name is Kaylie Vogt and I am studying electrical engineering.
I chose Mizzou because
because
the scholarships basically. I knew I was going to be paying for tuition.
I applied to a lot of out of state schools but
the tuition rate is just ridiculous.
The scholarships was a huge factor knowing that
I'll be able to
study and focus on that and not have to worry about paying it.
Growing up I always knew that I'd have to pay my tuition at Mizzou.
In high school that was always a really stressful because a lot of people
have help getting paid, getting their college paid for.
I worked a lot in high school. Like 40 hours every summer and it
was really stressful. So then whenever I found out that I would be getting
scholarships it took a big burden off of me. I think
since I wasn't so focused on having to make money I was able to focus and
get a job that I wanted. Right now I work for a grad students. So I am able to
see what projects they're doing, what applications all of my classes can be
doing.
It makes the science come alive kind of thing, where
I can learn, like
in-class I learn the theory of capacitors and inductors but that
doesn't necessarily mean anything. It's just a book.
But whenever I go to the lab I'm able to see
the capacitors and the inductors actually working in a circuit that's going to be
applicabile in the future.
