My parents think
I need to choose my major right away.
There's so many
great choices at Harper.
The counselor at orientation said
i had time to decide my major
maybe taking on these different classes will help me discover where my strengths are
need to do everything right to transfer and complete a four year degree
My counselor recommended the career center for help
They'll help me figure all of this out
strengths finder test will help, too
No one ever told me about my specific strengths and how they can help me
find ways to succeed.
That was pretty sweet
Mom, I'm off to school.
This is a really
big day for you today.
I can't believe that I'm in college.
Neither can I.
Seems like yesterday you were starting first-grade.
It's just a couple of miles away.
Harper is practically in our back yard
I'm sure it will be great.
My friends will be there and we plan to meet up later.
Listen, you have a really great first day.
Alright Mom.
This shouldn't be any different than high school.
Okay.
I'll text you my plans.
Now, if only I can find where my first class is.
and unique industry wifi but and didn't know they had in the parking lot, too.
There's a campus map right on the college's web site
i hope this is where i'm supposed to park. There's so many lots.
I hope I make it to class on time.
Do they give detentions for tardiness?
Wow! My first day at Harper.
I can't believe how many people are here.
I wonder if my parents know how nervous i am?
They think college will be easy because i'm still living at home
but this is so much more.
Everything counts
I want to find the right major for me.
the classes i take and the professers I get will make all the difference.
Here's my classroom.
Here I go.
That didn't seem so bad.
There's a lot of homework but I only need to
go to class three times a week
I think I can handle my classes if I can give a job where I'm working
fifteen hours a week
plus i need to remember to study two extra hours for each credit hour per week.
There's the bookstore.
Hi Angela.
How's it going?
Did you get your books?
Yeah i order them online. I have to pick them up
I'm glad I ran into you.
i'm sure you'll get to know them by the end of the semester.
Besides, we're all in the same boat.
Hoping to meet friends and make good impressions. And meet cute guys.
Look, there's Neil.
Hey, what's up. I had one class and it went well.
When do you have lunch? I've got a class and then a break
Have you found any student organizations you're interested in joining?
We haven't found any yet but we were hoping since this is your second year
you could help us out.
Well i was always interested in the school newspaper in high school but
never joined.
So i joined the staff of the Harbinger Harper student newspaper.
I met a lot of really cool people. I really love it.
Harper has got a really impressive athletics program.
A variety of multicultural organizations, religious organizations
and leadership opportunities like student senate.
We've also got a ton of cool clubs and pretty much
anything you're interested in or have a passion for.
There's something for you here.
Sounds like there's tons of stuff
We should get a list thant we can make a decision. Thanks Neil.
Anyone wanna meet for lunch? I can't I have to go to class.
There's Sarayah. Maybe she can meet for lunch.
Hey, guys. How's it going?
You free for lunch at noon?
Okay. Works for me. See you in about an hour.
There's the Library.
I need to get to know that place.
and there's the Center for New Students where I had orientation.
Everyone was so helpful.
I'll need to stop by
and check it out some more.
I'll be right there.
