We work with from self employed to small medium enterprise companies up to 250 people and bigger.
There is a need to influx youngsters into the construction industry because of the skills shortage.
The problem facing employers bringing youngsters into the industry;
...they have got to send them to college to get their knowledge side of the NVQ.
Most work is not carried out in the same place all of the time.
They might be on construction sites all over the country...
...so it makes it very difficult to do off the job training, to attend the local college.
With the experienced workers, they do not want to go back to college - back to a school based education environment.
Learners in the construction idustry really do not like to have to do lots and lots of paperwork.
They really do not like writing, they are practical people.
Running with the paper-based NVQ has its problems as well.
The administration of it is very time consuming.
The employer cannot afford to let an experienced worker go off to college.
This is a massive problem for the industry and employers alike.
We definately need a solution that is going to be flexible for the employer and the individual...
...so that companies can run their business as well as train people.
Increasingly employers have said to us is there any other way that people can learn?
Can they do it at home, can they not come into the training centres so much?
We developed our own learning and assessment material.
Our learners, young or old are very encouraged and motivated by working at their own pace.
The graphics are particularly exciting,...
...the multiple choice questions are very interesting.
The whole visual image is very enticing and rich for our learners.
Learners are getting immediate feedback by the results they are seeing on screen.
The elearning resource is very likable to the employer...
...because it makes a cost effective approach to running their business.
They do not lose their candidate or employee during busy periods.
This elearning resource, without compromising the quality of delivery of NVQ, ...
...will save my business money.
It is going to cut down on the time my assessors/tutors are out...
...either chalk and talk delivery or on the road assessing.
The elearning platform allows them the flexibility to do some work at home on a night.
It gives our shift workers an ideal opportunity to access their elearning whenever they want.
We find in the construction industry a lot of projects, a lot of people move around the country.
It is a very transient workforce ...
...so again they can access the elearning material at any time and at any place.
