Hey whats up guys. Welcome back to Tasty Sauces dot com.
I am your host Billy D and
today we are going to take a look at some sweet salsas.
lately I have been pushing the envelope trying some really spicy stuff but I have been
getting some feedback some people were recommending trying some sweet salsas so
let's go ahead and try some out.
The first salsa we have is Trigger's
Pineapple Salsa. If you look at the label, you have got a little
reward poster on there
This is actually a Tennessee company and they outsource their manufacturing to San
Antonio
But as far as the ingredients you've got tomatoes, pineapples, brown sugar, jalapeno
peppers,
celery, dehydrated onions, vinegar, salt, garlic, cayenne pepper and spices.
It looks like it will be pretty good. The other salsa we have is Santa Clara
Mango and Peach Salsa.
This company also makes a number of other
salsas and like you guessed it, they are based out of Santa Clara.
Now, this one should be interesting as I have never had a mango or peach salsa before.
So I am very curious to see how this one tastes. Now as far as the ingredients
there's a ton of stuff in here. We got
tomatoes, water, red green
bell peppers, peaches in syrup,
That sounds pretty tasty.
onions, tomatoes paste, cilantro, dried mango, apple cider vinegar, jalapeno
peppers
and the list goes on so
very curious to check them out.
Let's go ahead and jump right into them
Let's give it a shake.
Hmm, you can smell the jalapenos in there
and you can also smell the pineapple
I'm curious
It has got a nice little chunky consistency to it as you can see.
It has a little runoff but
it has nice chunks of pineapple in there
yeah
really sweet stuff
you can definitely taste the brown sugar kick in there.
It doesn't
really have too much heat on it but you can taste the jalapenos a little bit.
overall
pretty tasty stuff
personal preference I am going to give this one 4 out of 5.
It has definitely got that nice sweet heat to it.
I am thinking about maybe marinating this in chicken with the rest of it.
As far as spicy scale heat levels,
really not too hot. On the 1 to 10 scale I am probably going to give this one about a 2 so
Now, let's jump on over to the Santa Clara Mango and Peach Salsa.
Let's give it a nice little shake.
Smells really fresh
you can smell all those ingredients in there.
It has got a nice little consistency. You have got some chunks in there but
it's not too chunky or not too runny
There are so many ingredients it has a lot going on and I am trying to pick everything out.
I need to get another bite of that.
yum
you can definitely taste
the mango and peaches but it is not too overpowering, nice
and smooth.
It is pretty tasty stuff
personal preference scale
this one's a close call but I am probably giving this one a 3.5
out of 5.
heat scale really not much heat levels to this so I am going to give this one a 2,
So Today, the Trigger's Pineapple Salsa won the duel off.
but they're both pretty tasty, it just depends on your kind of mood. You may
want to go with the Santa Clara but
If you guys have tried either of these salsas out,
definitely let me know what you think and
don't forget the right sauce makes all the difference.
