Hi i'm David Cantor with the Law Offices of David Michael Cantor and welcome to my
blog. Today's topic has to do with
the drinking age.
Now, universally it's twenty one (21) years old in almost every state in the nation.
I have a feeling though,
and a belief,
that if a person is in the military and they're active duty
in the US military in good standing and they're eighteen (18) years of age up to
twenty (20) years three hundred sixty-four (364) days, that they should be allowed
to drink alcohol and purchase alcohol
if they show a military ID.
That's just my feeling,
if there's a young man or young woman who we've entrusted to defend us
who we've entrusted to go into harm's way and risk their lives, I think if they can make
those decisions,
and have that judgment and they're paying that cost for us,
I think they should be
allowed
to drink at the age of eighteen (18), I also think they've gone to some discipline
training, obviously through boot camp,
I think they have superiors who watch them, I hink they're still responsible
for anything that happens off-base and I think they should be allowed to drink
but that's just my feeling,
tell me what you think.
