Hi There, this is Benjamin Lechuga from DELTA and today I'mn going to show you some sounds you can get out of the ENGL Fireball 60 head.
This is a 60 Watt tube amp with enough power to play in any kind of stage.
It is a very simple and direct amp, specially good for playing rock and metal without needing any boosters, overdrives or distortion pedals.
It has two channels: Gain and Ultra gain. They share Gain, EQ and presence controls.
Here's an example of the Ultra Gain Channel for riffs.
Now the same channel, with a different EQ for solos.
pero cambiando la 3era menor por una 3era Mayor.
This head has 2 master controls: Master A and Master B. This makes the amp more versatile because you can apply two different volume levels to each channel.
You can use this to play riffs and boost to sound louder for playing solos, making it very useful for live performance.
Now I'm going to play an example of this, with the gain channel, with a classic hard rock sound. I'm going to play a riff with Master A, and then change to Master B to boost and play a solo.
The normal gain channel can go from a Clean Channel sound into a hard rock distortion.
And it has an interesting range of sound in between. For example, you can use it as a clean channel, but a bit overdriven.
It's very sensitive to the dynamics. The louder you play, the more distorted it sounds.
Now I'm going to use the gain channel, as a clean channel, for a funk rhythm guitar.
It also has 2 additional buttons: "Bright" and "Depth" to have even more flexibility with your sound.
Summering up, this is a very simple head. Just a couple of knobs to plug and play. It's very versatile. From crystal clean for funky rhythm guitar playing to my personal favorite metal heavy riffing sounds.
The only negative aspect I could find about this amp is that, as both channels share gain, EQ and presence controls, your sound options for live playing can be a bit limited in comparison to other ENGL heads.
Nevertheless you could listen a lot of different sounds you can get out of this amp, which makes it perfect for studio recordings for example.
If you take your time and check out all of the features of this amp you can definitely get lots of different and diverse sounds out of it.
So that was the Fireball 60 Head by ENGL. 60 Watts of pure tube power. I hope you guys liked it, see you next time.
