Recently I watched a video where someone made sort of a video about themselves, like a time
capsule, and then watched it again a few years later. And I thought this would be a really
fun idea so I decided to try it myself. So I'm going to be talking to my future self,
and after I post this video I won't watch it at all for several years, and then after
those years are up and I forget everything I said in this one, I'll watch it again and
I'll like see how I've changed or how I'm still similar.
Hello future Cindy: Today was actually pretty good, even though
you've been having some trouble lately. I'm in my sophomore year of college. Things started
off a bit rough this semester but I think I can turn it around. I really enjoy what
I'm learning about in class even though the work can be really stressful at times. Are
you still really similar to me or are you just completely different? I'm just wondering
how much you've changed, what happens between now and then. How are your anxiety and depression
going? Have you also got them under control or are you still struggling? Think about your
friends and family. How are they doing? Are they pretty much the same as now or have they
changed a lot? One of my favorite things to do is listen to music. Do you still like the
same bands I do? Like Dream Theater, HammerFall, Stratovarius, Iron Maiden, that kind of music,
or have you found something else? Something more interesting perhaps. I hope that you're
still proud of who you are, and that you're interesting, you're an individual, and you
do what you want regardless of what other people think. I hope you're still like that.
What did you do after I graduated? Did you end up going to grad school or did you get
a job? Do you have any sort of new hobbies? Anything at all that I would be able to predict
or completely different than what I do now? And if you're still making videos, I hope
your videos are a lot better than mine at this point. And if things aren't going well
for you, remember that I made it through twenty years of life and you can do it too. And I
believe in you and I think that you can succeed. Signing off, Cindy from 2014. Have fun in
the future.
