TONY KAPECHUK: Hi, my name is Tony. And on behalf of Expert Village, I'll be showing
you how to turn this check socket into a laminated definitive prosthesis. This is the top plate
that we'll use. It'll help us ensure that we get a nice, flat base for our pyramid to
be attached to in the end. Again, with any other threaded things, we always like to have
them Vaselined. This will ensure we can remove them after the lamination. Go ahead and tighten
that cap screw. Now, you're ready to finish laying up the rest of your materials. We use
a total of four layers of Nyglass which will help us pick up the pigment, and we'll apply
them in the same way as the carbon fiber. Pull half of the material on and we'll tie
up the top. This time, we'll be tying around this cap plate here. Your thread should fall
in there nicely. Give it a nice, tight knot. And we'll reflect the material in the same
way, making sure to pull any slack out of the materials. Okay. We'll cover it with our
next two layers. I'm going to apply it in the exact same way.
Our last layer of material will be a sheer nylon. This doesn't add any strength to the
finished product, just a nicer finish, and it will be applied the same way. And it's
reflected the same. Now, we can go ahead and tape all our materials down tight at the bottom.
This will prevent any wrinkles during the laminating process.
