In this story competitions
that choice will be limited to the period in which electronics
had not yet made his entrance
predominantly in the motor world,
it seems worthwhile to briefly illustrate the conditions
in which they played in the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1965.
After the first hour race starring Ford, Ferrari and Chapparal
a real hurricane struck on the race.
The race, unlike what would happen today in similar conditions,
was not stopped and continued with vehicles converted
in real boats and flooded the pit.
The storm ceased, the race returned to normal and to win,
for the first time a race with worldwide validity, was the Chapparal.
