Hey, I'm on Toronto island looking at the skyline of Toronto
and they really neat thing about seeing this skyline is how much it has
changed
i've had the privilege of living in a greater toronto area for over forty
years
here's a picture
from when i was a kid
standing at about the same spot that we're standing now
First Canadian Place was just being built
you can see the TD towers
you can clearly see the Royal York Hotel
and i think the CN tower was not built at this point in time it was just being
built
around 1975 - 76 so
I predate the cn tower i predate the the rogers centre
i've seen a lot of changes in toronto
and the neat thing about real estate here it is that it's
it's going up in value
if you're in
to a long-term investment
real estate is great
you can see it
it doesn't go away
think of the number of companies have come and gone from the stock exchange
over that period of time
just amazing
anyway I'm enjoying my day here at the island I used to come here and go to
Centreville
drive the antique cars and hang out with the canadian geese and
you can see them but they're all around me here right now
and so welcome to another episode of my video blog
as i go to various agent open houses today it occurs to me that one of the mistakes
a buyer can make in real estate is purchasing her property without actually
physically seeing it
and it's so easy to do these days with all the information that's available
online
all the photographs in the virtual tours
however the photographs in the virtual tours were probably taken with a
wide-angle lens
and they distort the look of the room it really feels different when you
physically show up to the property
often I hear clients say "oh, this is smaller than I thought"
and that's because the wide-angle lens made the room look longer or larger
so be sure to actually go to the property if you absolutely can't
then make sure you get an opinion from your realtor still and you still have
the option of course of having home inspector inspect the major systems for you
all right well it's time for craig what do you recommend let's get something to
eat
for this episode of Craig, what do you recommend? we're at Wendy's
restaurant
drive-through
fast food is a reality for me as a REALTORĀ®
but this is a healthy alternative today we're doing the berry
almonds chicken salad
it's got chicken
strawberries blueberries cheese raspberry vinaigrette dressing and a package of
almonds and i think that's just nutty
well we've come to the end of another episode thanks for watching
we'll look forward to seeing you next time
