Let's talk about the Girl Who Leapt Through Time the story's about Makoto
Konno who is having one of those days
She's late for school, fails a pop quiz and she even starts a fire
then she discovers a walnut shaped object which then she realizes gave her the
ability to leap through time when she saved herself from being hit by a train
Makoto then uses this new ability to have all kinds of fun but then she realized that
her time leaps
may have adverse affects on the people around her. The movie was based on a
novel by the same name
In fact it actually can be considered a sequel since Makoto's aunt was actually the main
protagonist in there is a novel
The movie was directed by Mamoru Hosoda who before this worked on the Digimon movie
and the sixth One Piece movie and the visuals like many other Hosoda movies are absolutely
spectacular they will leave you breathless.
not to mention the movie also has a great musical score composed by Kiyoshi
Yoshida
the story itself is well paced and it has its fair share moments that will make
you laugh cry
and leave you amazsed. It also helps that the characters feel realistic and are very
likeable
I enjoyed the scenes with Makoto time travilling but I especially
liked how she's able to take responsibility for her actions and try to make everything
right in the end.
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time was produced by Studio Madhouse and distributed by Kadokawa Pictures
It was licensed for English release by Bandai Entertainment, but unfortunately they
went belly-up
and now finding a an english copy could be hard.
But if you can check it out
with great visuals music, characters, and story you can't go wrong with
