Hey it's time for Tony's Tea, a look at some entertainment headlines that grabbed my attention
today. Tracy Morgan has canceled an April 29 performance
in Mississippi, because of the state's religious-objections bill. The Horseshoe Tunica Hotel & Casino
confirmed the cancellation, saying ticket holders will get their refunds. Mississippi's
incoming law would allow certain workers, including some in private businesses, to cite
religious beliefs to deny services to gay lesbian, bisexual and transgender people.
The law's scheduled to take effect on July 1st.
Kobe Bryant’s parents were not part of his final season in the NBA and according to ESPN,
it was because Joe and Pamela Bryant tore their drawls back in 2013 with Kobe over some
memorabilia being sold. You remember when that story came out? They went to court behind
that. He also stopped supporting his two sisters. Reportedly because they are college-educated
women who are able to work. You can’t blame him for that.
And Nicki Minaj’s brother, Jelani Maraj, was indicted on April 4th, and formally charged
with felony *** assault against a child. He was also indicted on two felony counts
of *** conduct against a child and endangering the welfare of a child. He appeared in court
today and will appear in court again next month.
