Today we're going to talk about How to install a Mercruiser Flo Torq Propeller. To install
the propeller, you should have the thrust washer, drive adapter, tab washer, propeller
nut, the plastic hub, and the propeller. Make sure the old thrust washer isn't stuck
and has been removed before you install the new thrust washer onto the shaft. Grease the
splines with spline grease. Install the plastic hub into the propeller.
Place the propeller onto the shaft and push it into place.
Next we're going to install the drive adapter, followed by the tab washer. Make sure the
tabs align with the metal studs. Install the nut and put a block of wood between the blade
and the cavitation plate then push up on the propeller to hold the block in place. Tighten
down the propeller nut to the manufacturer's specifications.
Make sure the tabs are lined up flat against the drive adapter. You may need to adjust
the nut. Pry the tabs up to start them, then finish squeezing them into place with the
channel lock. This completes the installation of a Mercruiser Flo Torq Propeller.
