Marius, You're already used to us being a bunch of weirdoes, so go right ahead.
First thing I wanted to ask you guys: Do you still consider yourselves as being a rookie band?
No.
How come?
I don't know...
because we already played quite a lot of shows
and we're already thinking about our second album.
I think it depends.
Musically-wise, we're still taking our first steps, we don't really know how each of functions...
as a drummer, as a bassist and whatnot.
I think we still have a lot of stuff to do...musically speaking.
I know what I'm capable of, I know what you guys are capable of
...so I think we're beyond taking our first steps. There you go...different opinions
What about the second album? What are your feelings on that? Are you a bit stressed out about how it will turn out?
Because the public didn't know much about you guys, you were just starting off and now...
We have high expectations of ourselves.
We really like our first album and we think it is really important to manage to put out a second album
that we can appreciate just as much, if not more.
There might be some pressure indeed.
Our own expectations are those that value the most
and that's why we might be a little bit stressed, because, in the end, we don't really know how it will turn out.
All I can say is that we really enjoy what we have done so far with it.
I think it's better...I mean, I like it better than our first album so...I think it's good.
You mean you're tired of the first one...
No, I'm not.
I think every artist says this at one point...
Oh come on...I mean it's not that type of official statement
where we say that "LULU" is the best thing we ever put out.
It's alright. We are very happy of how it seems to be turning out.
I don't think anyone has asked you about this so far: How was the tour?
We played 15 concerts. It was perfect actually. We acted a little bit like tourists.
We played at this festival in Holland and it was great - the room was packed with a really good crowd and we got positive feedback.
The whole tour was really nice. We're already thinking about doing another European tour very soon.
A bigger one.
There were 15 shows though...
It's ok...I can do more...
How is the European audience when comparing it to the one back home?
Much more generous. We managed to sell a lot of CDs....because that's what we mainly care about.
Generous, meaning that they applauded politely even though you could tell they didn't really enjoy the show.
People with a lot of common sense.
How long did you guys stay apart after the tour?
I think that period was longer than the whole duration of the tour.
Tour lasted for 18 days.
Ok...something the likes of that...to compensate.
We didn't know anything about one another, we had our mobile phones turned off.
I didn't anwser, I just turned it on silent mode everytime one of them called.
How many people wearing WHITE WALLS merchandise have you seen that you didn't already know?
This is a really good question. It actually happened.
Serban told us, that while walking through Bucharest, he actually saw quite a few.
Yes. It actually came as a surprise because we don't really know where they got the merchandise or who sold it to them.
This one time, I saw this video on a website with a guy wearing one of our shirts.
At first we didn't know who he was and it came as a huge surprise. In the end we found out who he was and now we know him.
He is the drummer of the band DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER.
Views, downloads
Do you want to talk about insights?
Are you more interested in them now than before?
When discussing downloads, we usually talk to Marius....
No, no...I mean...Youtube, Facebook, Likes....?
To be honest, I'm quite happy about the fact that we have almost 2000 likes on Facebook.
Do you think it matters that much?
I don't really know. I think it matters. I actually enjoy seeing 2000 likes there, and I was also happy when we hit 1000 likes.
There are bands out there with less "likes'' than us (500-600) but if they put out a video, they will get more views than us so...
It is not really proof of the quality of the music you play. For a metal band, I consider it to be ok.
2000 is better than 200...
In which direction is your sound going? Is the new material going to be softer or on the more rougher, aggressive side?
We don't really know.
Like the first one, the album manages to take us where it wants.
I don't think that any of us is actually pre-thinking where this album is heading.
The pre-made answer for this type of question that all bands state is that
the new material will have the softest and the most aggressive parts that we have ever done.
Do you consider that offering your album for free download was a benefit?
Or was it actually a bad thing?
I don't think we had any gain....i mean loss....what was I saying? What I meant to say is that Free Download is good.
I don't think we would have managed to sell this many albums if we wouldn't have had the option of FREE DOWNLOAD as well.
Do people in Romania still buy albums? Are they still interested?
Yeah I think so. We had people buying it from Constanta as well.
We're really surprised by the fact that we're constantly selling CDs.
I was recently talking to someone here in Romania and he was saying that
you are not considered a high quality artist if you don't manage to play stadium gigs.
It's true...
But let me finish first...
What are your thoughts on this? About playing in big venues, like stadiums and such...
Are we talking about playing stadiums in Romania?
Not necessarily. I'm talking about the venue and about the audience. Does where and to whom you play matter at all?
On the contrary... it doesn't matter at all
If you ask me, I consider us to be a club band.
There are amazing bands out there that I wouldn't enjoy seeing on a stadium.
And there are other bands as well that i would rather see only on a stadium.
What don't you like about yourselves?
Personally, I don't like the fact that neither of us is really rich,
so that we could stop working and focus on our music.
Maybe if we won the lottery...that would be really cool.
I would love if we could work more...do more things with our music.
Well it could come together...but you can never tell for sure. Things might change.
I don't know. I mean, sometimes one of us wears a funny hat.
I always have a funny hat with me.
I don't enjoy the fact that I catch colds really often.
Yeah. And I don't really like Eugen.
I mean look at me and then look at Eugen all dressed up and with a cold everytime!
I don't like Eugen either....as a person!
Yeah. We don't like Eugen and that's that.
