Hi! Cole Hons here from Penn State's Center for Sustainability. I just want to take a
quick minute to let you know why I'm so excited that Jane McGonigal is
coming here to Penn State on March 24th for the Teaching with Technology
Symposium.

Jane's gonna be speaking on games. Games for change. Games for
social change. Games as a way to reach students and get them engaged
and excited about learning. This is a topic that I've been passionate about for a long
time. I was a gamer as a kid. Now my kids play games. Here's a look at my kids.
I can't even get them away from the computers. They'll go for hours and hours. I know
that games are engaging to many generations. And it's only
on an increase. I myself have been working on my own little concept
Terra 2112 a game dealing with sustainability. And I'm really excited to get some
ideas. I'm reading Jane's book right now. Reality is Broken
Why games make us better and How they can change the world. Great book.
So I encourage everybody who's interested to come down and check her out.
Get some new fresh ideas on how we can mix it up a little and be more
engaging with our education at Penn State. Thanks!
