Bill O'Reilly tried to kind of psychoanalyze
atheists the other day and Jah
Josh Feldman brought this up for media 8 I'm gonna play the clip for you there's
two clips one where he talks about
atheist being bitter against religion and another where he talks about
atheists having so much anger I have a lot to say about this clip so let's take
a look at the audio and video first
yaar some ACS in our group entire group devoted to suing
schools that might have the temerity letting kids seeing a Christmas carol I
mean come
are why are they that bitter against religion is it that what it is today
have a bad experience with organized religion
is it bitterness what I'm seeing here is an amazing amount
other anger not from you all because you're humanist
chapel are you can be angry she have to be nice
but from all other AC a/c just so angry and i dont really know what they're
angry about
okay so and of course so Bill O'Reilly continues insisting that there's a war
on christmas. he says macy's is clearly ha style to Christmas at cetera
so here's the deal with regard to anger yes
there are some angry atheist in the same way that they are angry people
in just about every group around the world angry tall people angry Christians
angry Muslims and angry school teachers at center that's true
is it because they're atheists no but when it comes to the real
anger issue around religion I don't see it coming from AP st. Louis I see it
actually coming
in three fronts from those who are dogmatic religious individuals number
one is
anger from people who are religious
and get angrier offended that their beliefs
are being called into question are critiqued which to me
as Lawrence Krauss told us on this program if they are so offended her
angry simply at their beliefs being questioned
that's a sign that you should really be exploring their beliefs and that day
they deserve to be questioned number two its anger from those who are religious
directed at those who are not because they have the audacity not to believe
Lewis
and number three the anger that somebody
might object to their religion being
imposed or used to make the law for example anger from right-wingers
when the establishment legal system will say hold on a second
we can't really be making law about abortion
because your sacred text says something about it or you claim
it says something about it thats were I see anger connected to religion Louis I
don't see it on the on the atheist side
now you're right that's usually the case but
on a side note almost every time I see Bill O'Reilly interview
in a ps2 someone who represents eight years stir just talking to someone about
this
suppose it war on Christmas yeah he gets pretty angry
my he's a pretty angry guy that a lot anger coming from him
yet I think is is very representative of what you're talking about
