You slipped and fallen on some snow and ice during the winter time and you’ve suffered
an injury. Did you know that there’s a difference of whether you slip in front of an apartment
building or whether you slip in front of a house? Hi. My name is Jonathan Macri and I’m
an attorney here at Parker Waichman and I deal with slip and fall cases on snow and
ice every day. Now the scenario I just described to you is all too common. Someone slips and
falls on some snow and ice in front of a piece of property, time goes by, their injuries
worsen and they wonder: do I still have time to start a lawsuit against the responsible
party? Well I’m here to talk to you about one very important difference between two
different scenarios. One scenario is if you slip and fall in front of a house, the other
is if you slip and fall in front of an apartment building. You see when you slip and fall in
front of an apartment building, the person responsible for that isn’t the owner of
the apartment building but rather it’s likely going to be the city or the municipality in
charge of those sidewalks. If you slipped and fall in front of a house, the owner of
that house is likely going to be responsible in that scenario. Now you’re watching this
video because you’ve likely had a slip and fall incident and you’re probably wondering
do I still have time to bring my suit. Well, I answer questions about slip and fall cases
every day here at Parker Waichman. So what I’d like you to do is give me a call. You
can reach me at 1-800-800-9797 and I’d be happy to answer your question about if you
still have time to bring a suit or any other questions you might have about this scenario.
So once again, my name is Jonathan Macri and thank you very much for watching.
