>> Hello, my name is Gillion Bosman, and I'm from Cape Town, South Africa, and what's up
YouTube? I'm in Davos at the moment and I'll be answering some of the Davos question this
afternoon. But for now I'd like you to think about changing your perception of young people
and our involvement. Young people are seen as sort of a marginalized-consumerism; YouTube-based
group, but we're here to say - no. We can represent you effectively, only if you participate.
I think that 2008 will be a much better place if we collaborate with not only with other
young people, but also cultural groups from different regions, and also the world at large
and not just from an economic point of view.
>> Hi, I'm Yunan Jin, Beijing, China - what up there? And um, well what do you guys think
we should do with 2008, to make the world a better place? Well, me I think it's all
about one word - understanding. And uh, this word can fit in between religions and this
word can fit in between generations. And we want the Islamic world to understand and respect
the western world - where we want the western world to do likewise. We want the western
and eastern civilizations to blend in together, but not lose their own characteristics. Now
between generations, we - as Gillion just said, we want the older generations to understand
what the young generation is all about and what we represent; and the younger generation
should also become more understanding to the older generation.
>> Look at us - China and South Africa.
